Frequently Asked Questions

Questions and answers

  • What is a geotechnical investigation and why do I need one?

It is a study of the soil and ground conditions at your site through boreholes, field tests and laboratory tests. It tells your engineer how much load the ground can safely carry and which type of foundation to use, preventing cracks, settlement and costly failures.

  • What does GEOTECH test?

Soil, cement, concrete, steel, aggregates, bricks, bitumen, water, timber, plywood and boards, tiles, stone, GI products and waterproofing compounds. We also carry out earth resistivity, groundwater and contour surveys.

  • Which areas do you serve?

Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh. [Confirm any other areas.]

  • Which standards do you follow?

The relevant Indian Standards (IS codes), Indian Roads Congress (IRC) codes and MoRTH specifications.

  • Are your reports accepted by government departments?

Our laboratory is approved by CPWD, MES, Airport Authority of India, BSNL, All India Radio and other departments.

  • How do I send samples?

[Owner to confirm: drop-off at the lab and/or collection from site.]

  • How long does a report take?

[Owner to confirm typical turnaround times.]

  • What is a Plate Load Test?

A field test in which a steel plate is loaded in stages at foundation level and the settlement is measured, giving the bearing capacity of the soil directly on site.

  • Do you test earthing for sub-stations?

Yes. We measure earth resistivity at proposed sub-station and industrial sites to support safe earthing design.

  • How do I get a quotation?

Fill in our quote form, call us or send a WhatsApp message with your project location and requirements.
